About us

    Hato Press is an independent printing and publishing press based in London. It was established in 2009 as a support structure to sustain its members’ own practices and offer affordable means of production to others.

    All profits are directed into purchasing new equipments for the workshop and making new books.

    Hato is thought of as an autonomous experimental space to encourage collaborators to develop ideas and facilitate both the production and distribution of new content.

    Our Risograph


    We have one Risograph RP 3700 and two MZ 770E stencil duplicators.

    The process
    The RP3700 is a single drum machine, which means for each pass through the printer a single colour is printed.

    The MZ 700E is a two drum machine, it is one of the most advance Risograph and can print two colours in a single pass.
