Katie Schwab: Sample Book is the first institutional publication on the practice of artist Katie Schwab. Copublished by Vleeshal and Dent-De-Leone, the book provides deep insight into the period of artistic production between 2020 and 2021 that led to her exhibition “small wares” at Vleeshal.
The book includes a selection of essays, an interview, a shape poem, and a short story, all of which explore how Katie Schwab's research into Dutch darning samplers and processes of repair in textiles and civic architecture inspired a dynamic new body of sculptural works.
